MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO JOINED US ON THE RAMAZAN AND ZAFER BAYRAMI CELEBRATION LAST EVENING.
Dear Turkish American Friends, thank you for spending your Saturday evening with us to celebrate our double holiday. We, together, enjoyed it so much that I can’t wait for a new one. It was great food, the best sucuk-ekmek that I have ever had. It was Adanus’s secret recipe in the sauce. The baklava from Rabia’s kitchen was a great polish to the great taste from our dear homeland.
And my special thanks is to our dear volunteers, particularly who work relentlessly, the first and the foremost to my dear friend Mr. Engin Pehlivanoglu, my lovely wife Mine, my dear friend Mr. Can Soydinc, my dear friend Ozcan Tan. I also thank the Turkish School volunteers and teachers, our friends; Ms. Ruya Sunal Urso, Ms. Nihal Kaymaz-Foley for representing the OC Turkish School.
And, the last but not the least, I am grateful to our friends by spreading the word to make the transition from none in the morning to the great event possible in the evening. It was like a miracle. As word-by-word translation of a Turkish saying “We lost our donkey in the morning, we found it in the evening, Thank you God!”.
I look forward to seeing all of you, and more Turkish-American friends, again in the future events.
Sincerely yours,
