TURKCUP'07 Turkish Soccer Tournament

Dear OCTAA Members and Friends,

Please plan to attend TURKCUP'07, the 2nd-Annual Turkish Soccer Tournament, being held Saturday, May 5th in Carlsbad.  OCTAA Team will be defending our title as champions from last year's tournament.  We hope to see you at this fun event!

Interstate 5 North or South [EXIT] on to Poinsettia Lane [EAST]. Turn on to Poinsettia Lane [EAST], continue on Poinsettia Lane for about 1.7 miles past Aviara Parkway. Turn [LEFT] on to Ambrosia Lane [NORTH] go to Aviara Community Park. Turn [LEFT] into park and take first [LEFT]. Field is SOUTH of the parking lot.

Penalty Shot Contest

  •  2 players from each team can participate in the contest

  • 3 shots will be taken in the first round

  • Best 4 will proceed to final round

  • 5 shots will be taken in the final round

 

 

RULES OF THE GAME

PLAYERS: Five (5) on the field and one (1) goalkeeper – a maximum of ten (10) players on team roster

Four (4) player minimum to avoid forfeit.

FIELD SIZE: 45 m x 30 m

GOAL SIZE:  8 ft. (2.4 m) high x 14 ft. (4.2 m) wide  

 

1. NO OFFSIDES

2. NO SLIDE TACKLES (Only goalkeeper in their penalty area)

3. MANDATORY SHIN GUARDS

4. NO TIE GAMES or OVERTIME (direct to three (3) penalty shots)

5. SUBSTITUTIONS

·     Unlimited substitutions are done at midfield only and may be done on the fly; when other players exit the field (no need to inform the referee).

·     The referee must be informed when substituting goalkeepers.

·     During game time only six players are allowed on the field (including the goalkeeper).

·     Seven players on the field will result in a Yellow Card to the captain; followed by a Red Card to captain on the following incident.

·     All Teams must be at opposing sidelines.

·     No timeouts. 

6. GAME TIME

·     Fifteen (15) minute halves (running time).

·     Five (5) minute half time.

·     Time begins once referee signals with whistle at midfield.

·     Game time is forfeit time.

7. PENALTY SHOTS

·     Taken at the top of the goal box (nine (9) yards).

·     TIE GAMES result in (3) three penalty shots (from each team).

·     If score remains tie: “sudden death” penalty shots.

·     Goalkeeper that ends the game must stand in goal for the first three penalty shots taken.

·     Only after the first three shots the goalkeeper may be changed.  

8. GOALKEEPERS

·     Can not contact to the ball with his/her hands if a pass is given by his/her teammate. If so, a free kick will be awarded to the opposing team on the spot where the goalkeeper contacts the ball. 

·     Have to start the game with his/her hands if the opposing team sends out the ball. But this start has to be a direct pass to his/her teammate, which means he/she cannot make a second contact to the ball. If so, the referee will stop the game and ask him/her to start properly.

·     Can start the game either with his/her hands or kick if he/she gets the ball from the other team or his/her  teammate’s legal pass. The kicks may not cross half field without touching someone first. If so, the opposing team will regain control of the ball anywhere at the midfield point.

9. FREE KICKS

·     The wall is placed at six (6) yards from the spot of the foul.

·     All free kicks are direct.

10. THROW INS

·     Throw ins are taken similar to direct free kicks.

11. PHYSICAL CONFRONTATION

Any physical confrontation toward a referee, participant, or spectator may disqualify the team from the tournament.

YELLOW CARDS

If a player receives two cautions (Yellow Card) from the referee in the same game, that player receives a red card and is ejected from that game. He can play in the following game though.

RED CARDS

If a player receives a direct Red Card, that player misses the following game as well.

Another player may substitute for the ejected player only after ten (10) minutes have passed after the ejection (referee’s watch) or when second half starts, whichever comes first.
 

12. TIEBREAKERS: If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of all group matches, the following criteria will be applied to determines the rankings

            a. Superior goal difference from all group matches

            b. Fewest goals allowed from all group matches

            c. Fewest red cards from all group matches

            d. Fewest yellow cards from all group games

            e. Coin toss

 

AWARDS

 Tournament champion will be awarded by a trophy.
Other prizes will be distributed throughout the tournament.
