SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Open Nominations/Elections for
Executive Committee

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

The OCTAA Board of Directors meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday November 29, 2007 at the Azeri-American Cultural office located at 2021 Business Center Dr., Suite 215 Irvine, CA 92612.  The meeting will consist of both outgoing and incoming Board of Directors members to ensure a smooth transition.  Sebnem Eler, OCTAA President, will provide the “End of the Year Report” and we welcome special guest Emma Green, City of Irvine Multicultural Affairs Coordinator, who will be attending to introduce herself to our community.  The meeting is open to all members and we encourage you to attend.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

The Board of Directors will elect qualified individuals to serve the following positions on the Executive Committee: (1) President, (2) Vice President, (3) Executive Secretary, (4) Treasurer, (5) Membership Chair, and (6) Social Events Chair.  These individuals will serve one-year terms during 2008 and oversee the day-to-day OCTAA programs based on policy direction by the Board of Directors.  Please review the OCTAA Bylaws for descriptions about each position.  If you are interested in serving on the Executive Committee, please attend the meeting and email the following information to mdrouse5@yahoo.com by November 23, 2007 at 5pm:

• Name of Nominee/Candidate;
• Name of Nominator;
• “Statement of Interest” indicating why he/she is interested in serving on the Executive Committee; and
• Photograph in .jpg, .bmp, .gif, or .pdf format.
